WAXING 101

Waxing is a safe, effective and instantaneous hair removal treatment. Regular waxing treatments can both reduce the density and diameter of the hair growth over time. Because the hair is pulled from the root, your skin will be smoother for longer and without the stubble.

I will ensure that your skin is properly 'prepped' before every session; only high quality products for maximum comfort and results will be used.

BENEFITS OF WAXING

• Waxing exfoliates the skin
• The skin is smooth and soft to the touch
• Hair grows in finer, with no stubble
• You are hair free for 3-6 weeks
• Hair growth is often minimized after each treatment

PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

• DO NOT SHAVE OR TRIM THE AREA(S) TO BE TREATED. Approximately 10-14 days of hair growth is necessary for best results.
• For waxing to be effective, the hair must be at least 1/4 inch long.
• Make sure the areas are clean.
• Gently exfoliate the area the night before your wax appointment.
• Do not apply lotions or oils to the skin immediately prior to treatment.

POST-CARE CHECKLIST

After waxing eyebrow, upper lip or face:

• Do not touch waxed area with hands. The nails are a bed of bacteria and this could cause breakouts after the waxing service.
• It is recommended that you do not apply makeup for 12 hours.
• No scrubbing or rubbing the waxed area.
• Exfoliate skin to remove dead skin cells 1-3 times per week.

After waxing anywhere on the body:

• No tanning beds or sun for 24 hrs before and after waxing.
• No swimming pools, saunas or hot tubs for 24 hours.
• Avoid hot showers or baths for 24 hours after waxing.
• Avoid heavy exercising as follicles are open more susceptible to infection and irritation.
• Avoid soaps, lotions, perfumes & deodorants on treated areas for at least 12
• Don't scratch an area just waxed, due to increased blood circulation, the area might itch. Scratching or intense rubbing will irritate the skin.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Please inform me of any of the following PRIOR to your waxing service:

• Accutane
• Vitamin A (or any derivatives)
• Retin-A / Retinoic Acid / Renova (Retinoids)
• New skin regime; particularly night creams with AHA's
• Hemophilia / Diabetes / Phlebitus
• Sunburn / Inflammation / Infection
• Recent Tattoos
• Sores / Broken Skin / Extremely Dry Skin
• Warts / Boils / Cysts
• Herpes / Cold Sores
• Varicose Veins / Spider Veins
